Comment:

 I agree with @scribu; calling it something other than post type will just
 add confusion.  In the Drupal world they have content and node and it
 means the same thing and I witnessed far too much confusion over that
 term; it wasn't worth it.

 Strongly believe that you should stick with "Post Type" and then just
 educate people what it means.  That terminology is not that difficult for
 people to grasp.
