 because it's old isn't a good reason to remove it, however investing time
 in something that no one uses anymore and a plugin could add back if it
 was really wanted is a good reason to remove it.

 The reasoning was it's partially broken (due to the use of the_content_rss
 filter, etc.), and we didn't want to maintain it any longer.
