Comment:

 Don't just say this is plugin material, unless there are hooks plugins can
 use to add the IDs to the screens. Are there hooks now that would allow a
 plugin to add IDs to the post, page, tag, category, link, and link
 category screens?

 If not, please leave this bug open until they are supplied.

 If they are, please explain and *then* re-close the bug.
