 By default <!--more --> is a link to the spot on the page where the tag is
 placed.  If its halfway through the post, the reader will be sent halfway
 down the post.

 Personally, I would prefer the link to lead to the top of the post, not
 the location of the tag.  I'm fairly sure I'm not the only one (but I
 could be wrong).

 According to the
 [http://codex.wordpress.org/Customizing_the_Read_More#Link_Jumps_to_More_or_Top_of_Page
 Codex], the preferred method to accomplish this requires editing core
 WordPress files.  This obviously is not an optimal solution.

 It would be appreciated if there was an option to make the tag link to the
 top of the post.  I could create a patch if necessary.
