 I ran a test on my local machine and did not notice any spikes in CPU
 while loading wp-admin.  On my local install I am using PHP 5.2.4 and
 Apache 2.2.8.  Load times were under 2 seconds.

 On my production site I was running htop while accessing wp-admin and
 noticed a spike of approx 9% cpu usage.  On my production site I am using
 PHP 5.1.6 and nginx.  Load times were under 5 seconds.

 I can not duplicate what is being reported here.
