 I am seeing the following error in place of the update status for Google
 Gears when I click on the "Speed up!" link:

 ''
 Error: Invalid manifest - * Line 1, Column 1 Syntax error: value, object
 or array expected.''


 I tried deactivating and reactivating Google Gears but that doesn't seem
 to resolve the problem.
