 mdawaffe raised a point on IRC that some file path sanitisation function
 may not like the idea of relative paths i.e. the ".." in the paths. This
 would need checking.

 Also, directory traversal may not be allowed on some hosts in PHP safe
 mode, but I think it's OK to have a feature that isn't available to PHP
 safe mode users. IN any case, this change doesn't alter or break the
 default behaviour.
