 I have just released a small plugin ([http://www.g-loaded.eu/2008/05/08
 /more-feed-excerpt-wordpress-plugin/ More-Feed-Excerpt] to revert the
 behaviour back to what we have been used to. I believe it is complete and
 in accordance to the WordPress philosophy.
