 I've observed this in both 2.5 branch (post 2.5.1 release), and in 2.6b1.
 I haven't come up with a way to reliably reproduce it. I suspect, however,
 that it might have something to do with autosave?

 On recently published items, the post_date_gmt field is sometimes not
 getting set (value '0000-00-00 00:00:00'). Oddly enough, with post
 revisions, post_date_gmt *is* set correctly, but not on the final
 published version. The most visible side-effect is that items in feeds
 have the wrong timestamp. Of the last six posts on my site, three exhibit
 this problem, but I can't find a pattern to which ones do and don't.
