Comment:

 Just installed the beta 3 release and as the problem persisted, I started
 disabling plugins one by one and checked the manage/pages issue each time.
 It ceased to exist when I got around to disabling feedwordpress.
 Apparently this plugin is not compatible with 2.6

 Please close the issue. And sorry for shouting wolf here... everything
 really run smoothly after I got rid of the plug-in. (If there is a list of
 incompatible stuff we should add
 http://projects.radgeek.com/feedwordpress/ for now).

 Thanks for the prompt response and the quick burst of beta releases.
