 Reviewing the patch again, reveals several missing pieces. Basically the
 description and two others don't complete and will always be true, even if
 they haven't been pulled in yet.

 Still, the hacks should prevent missing data, but it should be correct
 regardless. I'll patch this up again this weekend, so that it will finally
 be ready for commit.
