Comment:

 Don't forget the users of localized versions.

 The auto-update mechanism should also update localized installations,
 possibly using the wp-i18n repository, or alternatively using a custom
 repository to be defined manually by the localization group.

 Potentially, the auto-update mechanism should only notify of new versions
 if the localized version has already been updated as well.
