Comment:

 Actually, it seems that the HTML should be supported by IE 7 and 6. It
 works using IE 8 by the way. Since it works in Firefox, it doesn't appear
 to be a !WordPress issue.

 Reopen if you find what the exact cause is. "They said..." isn't a valid
 report.
