 Pretty sure it uses version_compare().. I (and many other plugin
 developers) will be running with plugins with later versions than the
 stable version.. I can assure you It'd have been reported before now if
 that was the case..

 From that image, Firestats will be of a later version than stable i
 believe too.. I have a feeling it could be a small bug in the cache
 clearing code possibly, See if the upgrade notice is there on the next
 update (every 12hours for 2.7)
