 This had me worried for a moment.  Opening two different tickets within a
 month about the same issue would not be a good sign. :-D

 Lucida Sans UNICODE and Lucida Sans are not the same.

 This ticket (8074) is about Lucida Sans Unicode:  no italics, no bold, bad
 choice.

 That ticket (8541) is about Lucida Sans: few glyphs, only Latin-1, bad
 choice.

 But the issue of this ticket was fixed bit by bit in the last weeks
 leading to 2.7 final, and now the admin font families are sensible and in
 a sensible order (for sans serif:  Lucida Grande, Verdana).

 There are now only a few stray instances of Lucida Sans Unicode left (e.g.
 on the button of the Flash uploader).
