Comment:

 Unfortunately GIFs support only 256 colors which is not enough for the
 nice menu icons. As far as I remember there's a patch for IE6 to make it
 handle transparent PNGs so if somebody is stuck with it (IE6 has been
 "dead" for some years now), at least they can patch that.
