Cause if it is, then that must mean you're missing the Lucida Grande font
on your system. But it seems that I '''do''' have Lucida Grande on
'''my''' system so I see that rather than Verdana. And Lucida Grande is
 still ugly to me...

Lucida Grande is not on my system - I do have Lucida Console, Lucida Sans
 and Lucida Sans Unicode.

Most of the interface text is now Verdana for me, the exception being the
page headings, menu section titles, and a few others on the dashboard.

problem but the font does look '''really''' bad for me. I wish Verdana
 would come back...

You're right...Lucida Grande isn't so "grand" to look at, regardless of
 the OS.

 > I can see how some would just think "''why not just remove Lucida Grande
from your system?''" but I don't think that is the right approach. The
interface must be consistent. We need a default font that will look great
on all platforms/setups. We shouldn't have to modify our systems to make
 the interface look decent.

I agree - there needs to be one font that works/looks good on all
platforms without asking the end user to modify their individual system to
 turn a font on/off.
