Comment (by murky):

 The existing converter deletes categories

 (iirc, it does this without any warning that this'll happen)

 Not deleting categories by default would a)be faster and b)allow folks to
 move back to categories more easily.

 (As an aside, deleting a category currently makes posts uncategorised, it
 should have the option to assign them to parent category)
