 I was unable to duplicate this with either IE or firefox. I have 110 pages
 of pictures all uploaded before the upgade to 2.3 and works perfectly with
 both browsers. So need more information to duplicate.

 You should try disabling all plugins and then see if the problem still
 exists. If it doesn't try activating the plugins one at a time, and
 checking to see if the problem reoccurs before activating the next plugin.
 That should help you identify the culprit.
