Comment:

 I don't see how WordPress/Automattic should provide a branch in the
 *official* SVN repository. If it's a plugin, you can get free hosting in
 [http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ the plugins DB], but I don't see the
 need for your own branch in the WP repository.
