 I think this topic regularly comes up, and I don't recall real benefit
 being demonstrated.

 I recall that "application/xml" works on IE6, IE7 and Firefox.

 Otto42 is there now a "standard"? MarkJ commented on a wp-testers thread
 in January, "Nah, text/xml is fine for RSS 2.0  AFAIK application/rss+xml
 has been
 proposed but not standardized. http://www.rssboard.org/rss-mime-type-
