Comment:

 Forgot to say that the attached also sends categories in Manage ->
 Categories and link categories in Blogroll -> Categories through
 {{{get_category()}}} and {{{get_term()}}}, respectively.

 This means they get sent through the various filters (including sanitation
 and display filters) found in {{{get_term()}}}, {{{sanitize_term()}}},
 etc.

 If we don't want to do that, I can submit a tweaked patch.
