 When trying to password protect a private page the password prompt doesn't
 show up.  The original poster of the forum topic wanted to hide the page
 from normal visitors but also didn't want every registered user to have
 access to the page hence password protectection.  I have personally
 reproduced this on a test install of 2.3.
