 +1 on removing although I would think it would generate bad press from the
 community.  "Wordpress likes spam!" and crud like that.

 Gotta admit though I like the idea of getting links back to my site from
 all of the comments that I leave.  I may not be a student of SEO but I'm
 not going to pass up links.
