Changes (by Nazgul):

  * version:  2.2.1 => 2.2.2
  * milestone:  2.4 (future) => 2.2.3

Comment:

 -1 to the "attached" patch as is, because it kills the "wp_mail_from"
 filter.

 And I agree with westi that #4296 relates, so I think backporting those
 changes from trunk to 2.2.x is a better solution, if we want to fix this
 in the 2.2.x branch as well. I've attached a patch with those changes.
