 Hi technosailor,

 Sorry for the misunderstanding. As I work to close the tickets, I may have
 been over zealous with this one. The best time for me to update/close a
 bug is when I read the bug.

 Whether open or closed it does not affect your ability to reopen with a
 new proposed solution.

 When reporting bugs it is better to write in a way that separate the
 problem from possible solutions. This improves a bugs longevity, if a
 solution is not presented in a short amount of time.
