 CoComment (while cool), is a closed system.  I like the idea of extending
 (or using) Pingback.

 Just have WordPress pingback all URLs submitted in regular comments.
 WordPress could be set up to accept pingbacks to the front page, and
 somehow figure out that it is  a comment (might have to extend pingback
 here, somehow).
