#2580: Update services getting pinged on future posts

Hiya,
I'm kinda new so forgive me if this has been addressed before, but I have
a problem with the way WP pings update services on future dated posts.
I like to put several posts up at the same time and date some of them to
post over the next few days. That way if I can't get back right away there
is still daily content being added.
Now as I understand it WP currently pings all the sites I have listed in
the "Update Services" section at the time I'm making the post, not at the
future time I've set it to be published.
I've gone through the previous tickets and there seemed to be some
discussion about Pingbacks and Trackbacks having this same problem, and I
believe that's been fixed. (Thanks Skippy)
As it stands, the content I'm posting to be released in the future is
accessable now via the update services (pingomatic etc).
It seems to me that WP should handle pinging Update Services, Pingbacks,
and Trackbacks the same way in regards to future posts. If I set a post to
be published in a week none of these pings should be sent until the post
is made "public". Then they should all be sent at the same time.
Is this a bug? Or is it supposed to work like this for some reason I'm not
understanding?
Thanks,
Tony.
P.S. I wasn't sure which component to post this to so I used Admin. If
that's the wrong place I'm sorry.
