 Ease of incorporation is pretty low on our list of criteria for
 incorporating a feature into WP core.

 It could be done with a plugin without editing the template for simple
 views of multiple authors.

 For complex views of multiple authors, the loop structure is most
 flexible, and that requires editing the theme.

 I said I'd think about updating the plugin once 2.0.6 and 2.1 are out.
