 Steps to recreate:

  * Start a post
  * Uncheck any category boxes
  * Wait until autosave kicks in

 This is the error message I saw:

 WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the
 manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax
 to use near ')' at line 2]
 INSERT INTO wp_post2cat (post_id, category_id) VALUES (55, )
