 {{{
 This is wrong on many levels. First off, even if this was possible
 }}}

 It's possible see myBB and several other php projects.
 {{{
 Archives display would be inconsistant. At DST time, the blog would report
 a post as posted at a different time than it would report at a non-DST
 time.
 }}}
 I'm not quite sure what issue your bringing up here. It wouldn't
 retroactively switch times when it became DST on your post in Decemeber.
 Not to be rude but I think you don't understand DST. With GMT and DST are
 interchangable as long as your have a Date/Time stamp.

 {{{
 Second, there is no way for us to find the timezone of any viewer without
 javascript, which should surely not be an option.
 }}}
 The blog would have a default timezone and then if you had a user account
 you can set your timezone. Like how it is now with more choice.
 {{{
 What percent of computer applications on your system provide DST options?
 Probably only one: the OS.

 IMO this is not a WordPress problem.
 }}}
 What percentage of websites do (Forums, Email etc.)?
