Have you never tought to use mootools?

They are "platform"-guaranteed, lightweight, and also w3c is using them:
http://mootools.net/

Also ajax calls are very easy with mootools.

It would be better for all developers:
- only one library that everyone can use instead of dozens of functions 
that do the same things
- no need to worry about the libraries, they are constantly updated and 
always more powerful
- a lot of graphical amazing possibilities, visit the website for some 
demos.
