Please see my bug report [https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/63680]
created yesterday, (closed now, as I accidentally posted in the wrong
area).
But I believe it's both worth reading and mentioning, as it includes some
of my own initial testing, observations, and findings, both in my initial
report and in my follow-up replies (in regards to this issue), that I feel
**-- point to an actual deeper issue going on here --** ...more than
merely what has already been discussed in this thread.
- I have to also agree with @jeffr0 that simply using quotes doesn't work.
- I also would like to point out that in my own observations and findings,
plugins not being returned in the search results actually involves a more
critical issue where plugin search results intermittently fail to display
plugins that are both active and confirmed to exist in the official plugin
repository -- **As I have also ''*confirmed*'', these plugins are not
merely ''*deprioritized*'' or ''*mixed with unrelated results*''; they
''*completely disappear*'' from search results at times, only to
''*reappear later*''. This isn't a matter of sorting or deprioritization;
''*the plugins are completely missing from the search output*''** --,
which you can read more about in the above linked report.
I am also of the opinion that this - **should indeed** - be **changed**
from a **simple 'enhancement'** to an actual **'defect (bug)'**.
Kindly. Thank you.
