Currently on plugin submissions we collect:
- Zip file
- [https://wordpress.org/plugins/developers/add/ Basic checks that they
understand what they're doing]
That's it, and we then infer everything from that, or ask for it via
e-mail afterwards.
Unfortunately there are some things we can't reliably infer from that,
such as:
- ~~If they want a specific plugin slug~~ Implemented
- If the plugin is a Block Plugin and should be auto-submitted to that
upon approval.
- If the plugin is commercial in nature (Ie. should be in our Commercial
Supported section)
- If the plugin is a Community plugin (Ie. is accepting of community
submissions via a public code repository and will never be commercialised)
The plugin slug is a hard question to ask before submission, as ideally
we'd pre-fill it with a slug based on their submission.
So perhaps this needs to be done as a post-ZIP-submission step where they
can update some details after they've passed through the pre-checks of the
uploader.
