Comment (by dd32):

 The core plugin cards already greatly differ from the WordPress.org plugin
 cards at a technical level, and include showing different information, and
 in a different manner.

 The overall design is similar, but I don't think there's any need to
 prioritise coordinating style updates, as they're not dependant upon one
 another in any way.

 There's likely to be other changes and features on WordPress.org/plugins
 that isn't present on the core plugin page, but that could be later
 implemented into core.
