Yes, please add alt text to the image that reads "Watch the State of the
Word."
That would be the best outcome.
To be honest the other link that is next to it is not very meaningful.

I'd classify it as ambiguous - if you were hearing that in a list of links
you would ask, "Watch what now?" It would be improved with an aria-label
or screen reader text to give it more context as to what you're watching.
Absent that, it would be best to add meaningful alt text to the linked
image.
