 @Otto42 All great points. Very much appreciate the follow up.

 @renyot Fair. I think what I'm ultimately trying to improve is open ticket
 times (for the users sake) and duplicate forum moderator responses, but I
 wouldn't want to do so by adding any barriers. Nothing frustrates me more
 than the "modern" customer service labyrinth. So anything that would
 interrupt the user in that journey would be a big negative. Maybe the
 touch point is earlier, making topics more visible, more relevant or
 easier to find.

 I think I've heard enough legitimate reasons to not go ahead with this.
