New description:

 WordPress.tv has a tonne of content and it can be **hard for new users to
 discover** that this **content** is organized (among other things) by
 topic, language and speaker.

 I created a demo "overview" page using tag cloud blocks to illustrate the
 wide range of content we have: https://wordpress.tv/overview/

 I would like to be able to add tag/term clouds (or dropdowns?) to the
 sidebar to the **homepage and to archives** (singles are ok as they are,
 because the terms are already listed there).

 It looks like the **sidebars are currently hard-coded** into the theme. My
 suggestion would be to **widgetize** the sidebar to allow editors to tweak
 its content. If this is not viable or practical for some reason, let's at
 least add these tag clouds on archives and the homepage (even if they are
 hard.coded).
