Comment:

 Looks like they're back.

 The cause seems to be that the database contained 8,400 rows of trashed
 sitemaps, dating back to 2019.

 I'm not sure how or why that would happen, as most other sites I've spot-
 checked only have them for a week.

 I'll have to circle back on this in a few weeks to check that this isn't
 an ongoing Jetpack bug.
