 I sincerely hope they add this back, I would say that info should be privy
 to the plugin developer, although I'd rather see it widely available than
 not at all.

 Now, having met and knowing some developers involved personally, I'm
 assuming that the reason behind the pull was warranted and the intention
 is temporary until a fix is made. However, I'd urge a little urgency
 because it really doesn't bode well with regards to who holds all the data
 and all the keys to the community.

 To the decision makers... do you really need a good reason? The question
 should be asked whether you can find a WP plugin developer that WOULDN'T
 want to have this data made available to them?
