 Usually the tabs are unnecessary since they are no rendered at all. When

 /app-admin.php?rev=2701426#L25 take a look at the source ] you'll notice
 that the developer only used the tab for code styling purposes.

 Anyway, GlotPress 3.0 will have a button to insert tabs and new line
 characters which will be available soon on translate.wordpress.org.
