Comment:

 This is expected bbPress behavior, and as such should be followed up with
 them.

 There's an existing ticket at
 https://bbpress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/2499, although closed as
 `worksforme`, they note that action logs are only done when the content is
 modified, so any change ot this behavior should probably be discussed
 there, I'm not seeing any direct reason why we need ot diverge from what
 bbPress pre-defines here.

 I'll close this ticket, as this is a topic to discuss upstream instead.
