 Perhaps it might be worth attacking this from the other angle - instead of
 showing it on profiles, make more effort prompting unlinked users on the
 GitHub side.

 For example, if an unknown github user makes PR or new Issue in one of our
 tracked repo's, having a bot comment similar to the new-contributor core
 workflow: https://github.com/WordPress/wordpress-
 develop/blob/trunk/.github/workflows/welcome-new-contributors.yml

 That would make sense I think; Perhaps it'd be worth using a top-of-page
 dismissible notice rather than a 'take action!' callout in the sidebar?
 although the more I type that, the more I like a gentle 'hey look at me'
 icon.. perhaps with a on-hover explanation..
