 Thinking out loud, [attachment:"50932.patch"] could potentially be altered
 so that..
  - Links are visible by all logged in users
  - Links are 'anonymised'/hidden to logged out users

 That would mean all support volunteers, whether moderator or not, would be
 free to discuss / view links, and we'd avoid the whole "Oh nooo my thread
 is showing in googlleeee".
