 Just noting that this is the
 [https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:$wgEnableCanonicalServerLink
 $wgEnableCanonicalServerLink] MediaWiki configuration.

 Historical revisions of a page will have the canonical set to the
 currently published page, 404's will be set to the 404 url, query args are
 excluded unless it's an `index.php?...` request.

 Combined with the noindex requests elsewhere that'll probably cover most
 bases.
