 In the list view, the user’s attention decreases from top to bottom.

 But it doesn't address the problem that it looks too similar to the
 Support home page. We want a list so that it is distinguishable at a
 glance from the grid of Documentation categories. The grid also shows very
 little "above the fold". As the icons add more height, there is even less
 shown "above the fold", so I don't think the icons help anything. Again,
 it just makes it look more like the Support home page.
