 In order to use SVN (and perhaps some other services under .org) the user
 must use correct capitalization of their username. To my knowledge,
 there's currently no easy way for a plugin/theme developer or GTE
 (translation editor for a language, they sometimes need to access
 i18n.svn.wordpress.org) to check this, except asking someone with back-end
 access to look this up.

 I suggest that this information should be made visible under
 profiles.wordpress.org, at least when a logged-in user visits their own
 profile.
