Comment:

 Here's a little info on this.

 The underscores display properly for me with Chrome 78.0.3904.70 and
 Firefox 70, but do not display in IE 11.418.18362.0 and Edge
 44.18362.449.0 (on Win10, 1903).

 To further complicate matters, in both IE 11 and Edge,  the underscores do
 display in some of the single line code samples but not in others :-(
