 no, I haven't, although I understand they are quite busy as is, and I find
 on average 2 of every 3 threads would best be re-titled...I am wondering
 if that wouldn't be too much to ask.

 true, but I thought I would put this out there and see if it gets any
 mileage.

 Ideally a title field could be added to the reply form for author users,
 pre-populated with the existing title.  A change in the title when a reply
 is submitted would automatically flag a moderator to approve the change.
