 We could run the profile field values through the Discussion settings’
 moderation & blocked words lists.

 bbPress does this for topics & replies, but neither bbPress nor BuddyPress
 do this for profile fields.

 It still requires someone to maintain a bad-list of disallowed words, and
 the matching is fuzzy, so care needs to be taken to avoid false positives
 (`trailingslashit()` comes time mind.)

 That’s a relatively simple task that would cut a lot of this out.
